at at at at at at which LWTech students attain degrees or certificates The Completion Initiative focuses on on on high-impact practices using institutional data to to inform how and and where we make changes to to college policies procedures programming and and staffing In the the 2014 -2015 year eleven task forces narrowed the the original 15 15 recommendation into three core activities: piloting of of case-management advising for the general college population identifying professional development opportunities related to to several areas notably mandatory advising and and and and instructional delivery and and and and consistency of pay marketing and and and student tracking for all tutoring locations In In the the next academic year the the Completion Initiative will focus on on a a a a a a a a a a case-managed approach to student advising welcoming week activities and Math/English assessment This work will be co-led by the the Office of Instruction and and Student Services and and these activities are driven by the college’s strategic plan Equity Diversity and Inclusion Plan (EDIP) In In May of 2015 LWTech adopted our Equity Diversity and and Inclusion Plan (EDIP) The EDIP EDIP represents almost three years of of work and and the the process of of implementing the the EDIP EDIP began with formalizing goals related to diversity in in in the college’s Strategic Plan The EDIP EDIP provides a a a a a a a a a a roadmap for work through fall of 2017 Key accomplishments for the 2014-2015 academic year include: hiring nationally-recognized consultants Drs Christine Clark and and Mark Brimhall-Vargas to to conduct a a a a a a a a a a a a a a diversity diversity climate assessment and and to to make recommendations for a a a a a a a a a a a diversity diversity plan (Spring 2014 2014 – Fall 2014) hiring an an Interim Diversity Program Coordinator to to facilitate the the the the conclusion of of the the the the climate assessment and the the the the the vetting of of of of the the the the the proposed EDIP (Fall 2014 – Spring 2015) the the the the the Board of of of of Trustees’ approval of of of of the the the EDIP on on on May 4 4 2015 2015 the the the introduction of of of a a a a a a diversity- related question in in in our employee recruitment process and finally the establishment of an an Engagement & Learning Center on campus 11
