Lake Washington Institute of Technology
Smell the roses and grow a gardening idea or two while supporting Lake Washington Institute of Technology's horticulture program this summer. The Pine Lake Garden Club will host a self-drive garden touch in Sammamish on July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support LWIT's horticulture department scholarship program. All proceeds from ticket sales will go toward scholarships.
"The Pine Lake Garden club has been our longest supporter of student scholarships," said Don Marshall, LWIT's horticulture department head and lead faculty. "This will be their 19th year of supporting our program with a scholarship, but their first year opening their private gardens for a public tour. We are very grateful for their support."
Tickets for the event are $10 per person (children under 12 are free) and are available at John L. Scott Realty, 22841 NE 8th St. in Sammamish the day of the tour. Please note strollers and dogs are prohibited in order to protect the gardens.
