Budget Services

Budget Services supports the college administration and college community in effectively managing the budgetary resources of the college and provide fiscal management of the grants and contracts awarded to the college in support of the college mission and strategic plan.

To fulfill our mission we provide the following services:

  • Provide information and analysis to support the decision making and planning process of the college

  • Assist the college administration and staff in developing, coordinating, implementing and managing the college operating budget

  • Provide timely and accurate budgetary and expenditure information

  • Establish monitoring controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and state and federal regulations

  • Analyze, interpret and apply fiscal federal, state and local rules and regulations for student aid and grants and contracts to ensure audit compliance

  • Provide for the common understanding of the budget development and reporting process throughout the college by providing training and information sessions

Budget Management

Budget Services manages the college budget using the on-line Financial Management System (FMS). Budget Services is responsible for all on-line budget entries into the FMS system.

You may complete a transfer request form and submit it to the Finance Office.

College Budget

Prior to the beginning of every fiscal year an annual college budget is developed and approved by the Board of Trustees.

Budget Development

One of the directions under Financial Success is to have open and transparent budget and financial information. LWIT, through the Finance & Budget Committee, has developed a budget process for this purpose.
