Public Comment Invited on Lake Washington Technical College Accreditation

Kirkland, WA ­- Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC), located in Kirkland, WA, will receive an accreditation evaluation by its accrediting agency, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, on October 17-19, 2011. The purpose of the forthcoming visit is to evaluate the College's current accreditation status.

LWTC currently has the following accreditation status:

Lake Washington Technical College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities at the associate degree level and has been granted candidacy at the baccalaureate level.

The last comprehensive evaluation received by LWTC was in 2006. As a result of that evaluation, the College's accredited status was reaffirmed.  A subsequent interim evaluation in 2009 reaffirmed the College's accreditation.

Interested members of the public are invited to comment on LWTC's qualifications for accreditation by writing to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities at the following address:

Comments must be received by the Commission no later than one month before the October 17-19 evaluation visit. Signed comments are forwarded, as received, to Lake Washington Technical College, the evaluation committee, and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
