Free Youth Dental Sealant Day

January  13, 2010

The Lake Washington Dental Hygienists’ Society is offering a preventive dental program on Saturday, February 6, 2010, from 9:00AM to 2:00 PM on the campus of Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC)in Kirkland. This program is in honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month. There will be FREE dental sealants, exams, bitewing x-rays, and fluoride varnish to children who would not otherwise be able to receive this cavity-prevention treatment. Children whose teeth are unable to be sealed due to decay may have their cavities filled at a later date.

This free dental sealant day is for children ages 6-13 who's family meets the above requirements.

What are Sealants?

Sealants are white coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. They are non-toxic and protect teeth from cavities. This process is painless, can protect your child’s teeth for 6-8 years, and is usually done in less than an hour. Registered Dental Hygienists from the state of Washington and Lake Washington Technical College Dental Hygiene students will place the sealants on your child’s teeth.
