Lake Washington Technical College's (LWTC) Technical Academy is currently enrolling eligible high school juniors and seniors for fall quarter.
The Academy is a full-time special purpose high school program located on the college's Kirkland campus. It offers qualifying students, ages 16 to 20, an opportunity to not only complete their high school diploma but also work towards a two-year college technical degree or certificate at the same time.
The program is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and annually enrolls 350-400 students from 30 regional school districts.
Technical Academy students have access to most of the training programs and support services offered by LWTC. Students are required to be enrolled full-time in a technical training program and general education classes to complete the high school diploma.
The length of the school day depends on the technical program as the college offers morning, afternoon, evening and weekend classes. The average schedule is usually 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Students are responsible for their transportation to and from the program.
Enrollment is limited and students must meet certain eligibility requirements. Interested students must first attend a High School Options (HOP) information session. Please call the office at 425-739-8107 to reserve a space at the next available session.
