Electronics Technician Graduates
Jack Harding
I originally enrolled at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWIT) to learn more about electronics for my own personal use as a hobby...definitely, not a career path!
My initial feelings that LWIT was interested in my success, skyrocketed upon meeting Instructor Joe Gryniuk of the Electronics Program. Joe knew of my personal interest in learning about electronics, however, he pushed me a bit further to make that "leap of faith" to secure a career in the field. I was encouraged by his belief in me and my abilities. He was always busy, but also, always available to help. Joe held a real-world perspective about the application of the college's electronics courses. I also liked the way LWTC's Electronic Program addressed current trends and emerging technologies.
Since receiving my Electronics Technician Associates Degree and the Electronic Technician Certification, I plan to further invest in myself, my talents and skills. My goal is to maintain the freedom to work in a career I enjoy and not be trapped into working just for money. I presently work for Boeing as an acoustics laboratory test technician. I'm required to understand the physics of sound and electrical signals and also how to install and use several types of instrumentation like Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, volt meters, and sound level meters. I couldn't do my job without the pertinent knowledge obtained at LWIT.
I still find time to ride my motorcycles and go to car shows, and what was once a hobby in the field of electronics, has now become a real profession... in the real world!
LWIT's Electronics Program epitomizes their motto, Education That Works.
