Multimedia Design & Production

undefined

The Multimedia Design & Production (MMDP) degree is designed to prepare students to work in a variety of settings as graphic designers, web designers, desktop publishers, and graphic art technicians. Graduates will able to plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to produce web sites, printed materials, and interactive online experiences.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology's Multimedia Design & Production program is proud to announce its Video and Web Production AAS degree and certificate. Formerly known as the Interactive Digital Media program, the curriculum has been updated to reflect the growing synergy between web design and video production as organizations seek to add compelling video content to their websites and develop a social media presence. Students will learn digital storytelling and web design principles, and develop strong video and web production skills through software such as Final Cut Studio, After Effects, Dreamweaver and Flash. Video content distribution through different digital formats will be explored. Program length has been reduced from 116 to 97 credits, requiring less time to complete.

KAIT Exchange Program

The MMDP department hosted an exchange program with students from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology, located near Tokyo. In addition to practical work with English skills, students created movie posters, beginning with their own conceptual ideas. They studied digital photography, photograph manipulation, and page layout with MMDP instructors. Their resulting projects were displayed and presented at a reception in honor of the students. A video of last year's event is available on YouTube.

MMDP Students to Design Regional Marketing Materials

Kirkland SummerFest is a community celebration of arts, music and food, that enriches the cultural, economic, and social vitality of our region.

The organization has selected LWIT students Sean Misa and Sara Marie Qualls to collaborate with the Kirkland SummerFest design team, to create the promotional poster and materials that will serve as the primary branding for Kirkland SummerFest 2012. The designs will be adapted for T-shirts and banners, and will serve as advertisements to introduce readers to the event, include text details, and direct readers to the website for more information.

Watch for their talents in the upcoming months!
