Tech Prep is a national reform movement started in 1990 to encourage all high school student to continue their education beyond high school by aligning vocational/technical education in the high schools and community/technical colleges.

High school students become eligible to earn community/technical college credit by:

  • Enrolling in Tech Prep

  • Paying the $25 processing fee

  • Completing Tech Prep high school courses with a B grade or higher.

Transcripts are mailed directly from the awarding college to the student's home the summer after successful completion of the Tech Prep high school course(s).

The North East Tech Prep Consortium (NETPC) was formed in 1992 and includes nine school districts and five community/technical colleges.

Through the Tech Prep program at LWIT, high school students may earn college credit in areas such as:

Animation

Engineering

Accounting

Graphics Production

Auto Technician

Horticulture

Computer Technician

Marketing

Criminal Justice

Networking

Culinary Arts

Programming

Drafting

Web Design
