I took Accounting 1 and 2 in high school last year, but I didn't apply for the Tech Prep credit last year. Could I still do it now?
No. In order to be eligible for Tech Prep credit, a student must register for the Tech Prep program during the time they are enrolled and attending their Tech Prep high school course. We are NOT able to go back and award credit after the fact.
What do I do if I can't remember if I sent in the paperwork last year or last semester?
Be safe rather than sorry, go on-line and register as a new student.
What is the North East Tech Prep Consortium?
A network of five community and technical colleges and 27 area high schools.
If I already have credit at the college, do I have to pay the $25.00 Tech Prep fee?
Yes. There is an annual, per-college fee of $25.00, payable to the NETPC. This fee covers the special registration work required by the consortium and the college to create Tech Prep class sections, enroll Tech Prep students, process and mail transcripts. None of this is done for regular community and technical college students.
Will my credits transfer to any college?
Transferability of your credit depends on the receiving institution. Many students have received credit at other colleges in Washington. However, there is no guarantee that these credits will transfer to any other community/technical college, four-year college, or university.
How do I get a copy of my college transcript?
You need to contact the community/technical college that you applied to for the credit. You can request transcript information in several ways:
- Log onto the LWIT website
- Call Enrollment Services (425) 739-8104
- Come to LWIT in person
