Next stop: Seoul, South Korea Editors: Ana Kasparova will prepare japchae for lunch at LWTech's on-campus restaurant Wednesday, June 11 11:30 a.m. Kirkland, WA - Lake Washington Institute of Technology culinary student Ana Kasparova won the international "Global Taste of Korea" competition held May 31, 2014 at the Art Institute of Seattle. The Russia-born student beat out more than a dozen students and national restaurant chefs with her twist on japchae, a traditional sweet potato and noodle dish served for Korean special occasions.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology Wins Green Grant

Energy Services company McKinstry helps navigate national grant waters Kirkland, WA - A green partnership helped Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) win a major federal grant to replace old costly sodium illumination with new, LED lights. The project will save LWTech $22,000 in electricity bills each year and translate into an annual reduction of 321,000 pounds of CO2, the equivalent of planting 40 acres of trees.
