BTAD Advising

Admissions Information: If you are interested in applying to the Bachelor of Technology in Applied Design program, this page will provide you with helpful basic information. See the BTAD page for information about curriculum and application instructions. To download an application to BTAD please use the following link: 2012-2013 BTAD Application.  The following is a summary list of application requirements.  Refer to the current BTAD application for details:

  • Earned AAS in design related discipline
  • Completion of 4 application specified General Education courses with minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Minimum cumulative GPA across all college coursework of 2.0
  • Design Portfolio
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume
  • Essay
  • $50 application fee

Information Sessions: For an overview of LWIT's BTAD program, please attend an Information Session on the Kirkland campus at 5:00 p.m. on July 9, in West Building, Room W406. These helpful sessions present an overview of LWITs BTAD program, curriculum and philosophy. Sessions last approximately one hour, and include time for questions. No RSVP is needed. Attending an information session is strongly recommended before applying to this program.

Program Objectives: The Bachelor of Technology in Applied Design program will educate, train and develop successful supervisors and project managers to utilize technology and create competitive advantages for their business enterprises. The Applied Design Core will stress the process of design, managing creativity, design technology, project management, entrepreneurship and ethical issues. The objective is to prepare graduates to function as lead designers or project managers of creative and technical personnel.
