Generally, students are eligible for financial aid if they meet the following conditions:

Enrolled in an eligible program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology for the purpose of obtaining a degree or certificate (note: students who must complete pre-requisites or are conditionally accepted into a program are not eligible for federal grants; these students should check with the Financial Aid office to see what other types of aid they may be eligible for.)

Citizens of the United States or an eligible non-citizen

Making satisfactory academic progress as defined by LWIT's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

If you were informed that you are on Financial Aid Suspension and would like the opportunity to explain any unusual circumstances, please complete the Request for Appeal form and return it along with supporting documentation to our office

Not be in default on any student loans, or owing a refund on any grants

If male, registered with the Selective Service

High school graduate or GED, or achieve a minimum score on an approved Ability to Benefit test

Students with a Bachelor's Degree are not eligible for state or federal grants (this includes a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent earned in a country other than the U.S.)

If your Student Aid Report (SAR) indicated that you were selected for a process called "verification" or our office is requesting a verification worksheet, please go to Financial Aid forms and print a dependent or independent verification worksheet and submit the completed worksheet along with a copy of your tax return and your parent's tax return if requested, to the Financial Aid office.
