Specific awards are available for students in Administrative Assistant, Automotive, Dental Hygiene, Engineering Graphics, Fitness Specialist, Power Equipment, Social and Human Services, Information Technology-related programs. LWC Foundation Scholarships

April 30 of each year

$1500 (renewable)

• Admitted to an approved undergraduate or graduate institution in the Pacifica N.W.
• Pursuing studies in human services, health care, education, public affairs or a related field
• Demonstrate financial need
• Demonstrate strong academic aptitude
• Are considered to be a minority student, based on race, ethnicity, religious affiliation or sexual orientation
• Successfully complete a competitive, 500-word essage on an assigned topic

• Must have completed a minimum of one year in a dental hygiene curriculum. Students entering their first year of dental hygiene school are not eligible; students may be in the process of completing their first year when application is submitted.

• Must be a resident of Washington State and attending a college or university in the state of Washington having completed one academic term prior to the scholarship application period.
• Pursuing a certificate, diploma, baccalaureate, or graduate degree in emergency management or a closely related field
• Two letters of recommendation required

• Must be a member of WSECU.
• Student must attend school on a full-time basis in the fall of 2011, and the degree sought must be the first of its type.

• The purpose of this program is to provide scholarships to students training to be primary care health professionals. In return, the student signs a Promissory Note agreeing to provide primary care in a designated health professional shortage area in Washington state for a minimum of three years. Urgent/Emergent and specialty care are not considered Primary Care and are not accepted for service credit.
• First priority will be given to those applicants enrooled in Undergraduate Nursing, Nursing Faculty, Dental, Dental Hygienist, and Pharmacist programs who demonstrate a commitment to rural communities and underserved populations. (see website for full description)

• Do not have to be a Washingtons state resident to apply
• Must return to Washington state to fulfill your service obligation
• Participants may not work in urgent care clinics or specialty care clinics or hospital emergency room.

• Recognizes students for outstanding achievement in career and technical education, and for their leadership and service to their schools and communitites.
• Must be a Washington State resident, currently enrolled student, and by June 30, 2011, will:
• Graduate from high school having completed a minimum of 360 hours in a single career and technical education program approved by the OSPI or complete at least one year in a technical education program at a public community or technical college approved by the SBCTC.

April 16, 2011

• Scholarship must be used at a two or four year college or trade school within the academic year following receipt of the scholarship.
• Applicants must be pursuing further education in horticulture, botany, landscape design, floral design, or environmental studies.
• Requires letter of recommendation and official transcripts
• Applicants will be judged on High school and college transcripts; reflection statement; letter of recommendation
• Scholarship may be used for tuition and/or fees
