Assessing Program Outcomes attempts to answer the question, "How do we know students are learning what we want them to learn and accomplishing their goals in college?"
At Lake Washington Institute of Technology each degree program has established program outcomes that they expect their students to be able to do or accomplish at the end of a successful completion of the degree. These outcomes include at least one employment outcome, at least one technical skills outcome and demonstrated learning in each of the global outcomes. Each program has established measurable criteria to determine whether students are meeting the program outcomes and a feedback loop to make program level changes based on the assessment results.
