 We are offering great classes for Au Pairs! All registration can be done on line through our Continuing Education Office.  All the classes are open to the general public, but were designed with Au Pairs in mind.  All classes are offered on our Kirkland Campus

Here is your chance to speak English with confidence! In this class, you will learn the basic rules of pronunciation, such as how vowels and consonants are produced and the stress and rhythm of language. Better pronunciation improves your conversation skills and confidence, and we are here to help! All levels of English learners are welcome!

Grammar                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Wednesdays: Five weeks- 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8.   Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m. Fee: $110                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              In this grammar class, we will add to your understanding of grammar, no matter your level. No entry test is required. We will cover the proper uses of tenses, direct and indirect speech, correct use of time, and touch upon the difference between written and verbal grammar.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Speaking and Communication
Mondays: Five weeks-5/13, 5/20, 6/3, 6/10, 6/17.  Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Fee: $110                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Improve your everyday conversation skills and vocabulary as we discuss current events, culture, and daily living. Learn how to handle communicating in difficult situations, which include conversations with native English speakers, oral speeches, and reading aloud in public.  

Business English
Wednesdays: Five weeks-5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5, 6/12.   Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Fee: $110                                                                                     
                                                                                                                                                                  If using English important for your job, or future job? Do you need to improve your English, specifically for work? This is the class for you! In this class, we will explore various situations, expressions and conversations that are common in the workplace. Through class activities, you will have a chance to practice communicating with co-workers, and gain more confidence to communicate your technical knowledge.

 

NOTE: These classes are open for all students, but do not meet the immigration requirements for students with F1 Student Visas.  All the classes offered through Continuing Education are open to everyone who registers. This class was designed specifically with Au Pairs, or J-1 visa holders in mind. Students with J-1, M-1 and F-1 visas may enroll in the class, but it will not meet immigration requirements for students with F-1 visas.
