Executive officers focus on helping create an exceptional student experience. Contact officers to learn more about being a student at Lake Washington Institute of Technology, have an idea for a student event or activity, or have a concern related to your LWIT education.

 

President Peter M. Huff is serving as the 2011-2012 ASG President, presiding over the Executive Board. He acts as the liaison between the student body and the faculty, staff, and administration by representing ASG in campus and community relations. He recommends chairpersons to all committees. He promotes the development of ASG policy, strategy, goals and objectives, and supervises implementation. Finally, he attends all Board of Trustee meetings and is knowledgeable of all Board of Trustee functions.
Vice President Shalliah Swinney is serving as the 2011-2012. She chairs the Selection Committee, responsible for hiring processes and presides over the Executive Board and Senate in the absence of the President. She also solicits student input through suggestions boxes and other means, research complaints and suggestions, and presents them to the Executive Board for consideration. For all carried motions, the Vice President supervises its implementation and provides status reports of such motions and their impact.
FinanceOfficer Kiang Chong is serving as the 2011-2012 ASG Finance Officer. He act as the financial adviser to all programs financed by the ASG by approving, with the administration appointed Adviser, all purchase requisitions for ASG. He also maintains current records of all revenues and expenditures and submits monthly reports to the Executive Board. He is currently chairing the budget committee.
ROfficer ASG Records Officer Liesa Spring, a two term student leader veteran, is responsible for recording, filing and distributing the minutes of all Executive Board, Budget Committee and Senate meetings. She serves as ASG historian by maintaining the files of the ASG in an orderly and efficient manner and preserves all documents relating to the E-Board, the Senate, and the Budget Committee on permanent file, archiving as necessary.
PROfficer ASG Public Relations Officer Will Bolden, having held two different positions within ASG, is now the Publicity and Marketing officer. He chairs the Activities and Marketing Committee and maintains and posts a calendar of events for the year. He is responsible for carrying out ASG sponsored activities by: acting as a liaison between students clubs and the Executive Board; seeing that clubs perform within mandated rules. He also prepares certificates of recognition and awards; prepare fliers, posters, reader boards and other media to publicize events and meetings.
