VETERAN NEWS EVENTS:
VETERAN LUNCHEON: Wednesday, November 6th, 2013, LWTech Veteran students are invited to attend a complimentary luncheon served in the Dining Room, East Building, Room#E-144 (located across the hall from the LWTech cafeteria at 12:00 Noon. This occasion will allow you to connect with other LWTech veteran students, instructors and staff. The guest speaker is Allen Boivin-Brown, who has over 25 years experience as an educator and career counselor. He will be providing insight on "Dependable Strengths" and the transition from military service to new academic and career pthways. Also, representatives, from the King County Veteran Grant Program, The Seattle Vet Center and YWCA will provide information on emergency financial assistance and free counseling for veterans and their family members.

Complete your VA Education Benefit Application on-line:
Get your GI Bill Education Benefits started Complete your VA Education Benefits Application online: http://vabenefits.vba.va.gov/vonapp/main.asp , Once approved, the VA will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (please submit a copy to the School Certifying Official). You may check your status and access your VA documents at www.ebenefits.va.gov
Apply for Admissions www.lwtech.edu/enrollment/getting_started.html Veterans receive 25% discount on tuition and fees, Bring in your DD-214, (copy4) indicating an "Honorable Discharge" to the Enrollment Services Office, 2nd Floor of West Building, LWTech Main Campus
Take assessement test and submit official transcripts www.lwtech.edu/assessment The assessment test provides placement information for Math and English courses and may be required for some technical classes or programs. To transfer credits from a previous college, military training, request official transcripts and either bring them in a SEALED envelope or have them sent to Enrollment Services
Attend a Veteran Benefits Orientation (required) Tuesdays at 11:00AM , Room W213C or Thursdays at 1:30PM , Room W213C
Meet with an Academic advisor and attend an academic planning sessio. Call Advising at 425-739-8300 for current session times or email: www.lwtech.edu.advising Plan your course of study and select courses. Bring your COMPASS scores and/or previous college transcripts (unofficial OK). Advising is located in West Bldg, Room#W207, LWTech Main Campus
Apply for Financial Aid www.fasfa.ed.gov or attend a FAFSA ONLINE Workshop if you need help in completing the FAFSA application. Online Workshops are scheduled on Thursday afternoons at 3:00PM. See www.lwtech.edu/financialaid for current room locations. Veterans may receive financial aid as well as GI Bill Edcucation Benefits.
Submit all paperwork to the School Certifying Offical, Financial Aid Office, W209. Required paperwork includes, Certificate of Elgibility issued from the VA, DD214, Academic plan, and Signature Page (available at the VA orientation)
