  • Candidate must be a mature woman over 50 years of age, with no dependent children

  • Favor displaced homemakers, homeless women and women who for whatever reason must train to support herself

  • Must have clearly defined educational and career goals and be able to articulate them to the scholarship committee

OVERLAKE SERVICE LEAGUE ADULT EDUCATION AWARD

Criteria:
  • Must reside in Bellevue School district
  • Must enroll in a public college in the State of Washington or a reginally supported college or a bona fide technical school in the State of Washington
  • Must be a United States citizen, refugee or registered alien awaiting eligibility for US citizenship
  • Must meet eligibility requirements of the college, university, or vocational school of your choice
  • Must participate in community service hours for OSL, which will be mutually agreed upon.  Any default of community service hours may result in the discontinuation of assistance.

Criteria:

WASHINGTON STATE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Criteria:
  • The purpose of this program is to provide scholarships to students training to be primary care health professionals. In return, the student signs a Promissory Note agreeing to provide primary care in a designated health professional shortage area in Washington state for a minimum of three years. Urgent/Emergent and specialty care are not considered Primary Care and are not accepted for service credit.
  • First priority will be given to those applicants enrooled in Undergraduate Nursing, Nursing Faculty, Dental, Dental Hygienist, and Pharmacist programs who demonstrate a commitment to rural communities and underserved populations. (see website for full description)

WAVE - WASHINGTON AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

Criteria:
  • Recognizes students for outstanding achievement in career and technical education, and for their leadership and service to their schools and communitites.
  • Must be a Washington State resident, currently enrolled student, and by June 30, 2011, will:
  • Graduate from high school having completed a minimum of 360 hours in a single career and technical education program approved by the OSPI or complete at least one year in a technical education program at a public community or technical college approved by the SBCTC.

  • While the criteria for awarding scholarhsip funds are based on an individual's financial need and community service, often times a student with the most need is unable to volunteer his/her time because of the necessity of holding a paying job, or the responsibility of caring for siblings.  Therefore, Windermere Foundation looks at the entire situation to determin their scholarship decisions.
