Faculty Training Tracks (FacTracks)

Faculty Training Tracks (FacTracks) categorizes faculty professional development workshops into these tracks:

  • Digital Accessibility
  • Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Technology

Learn more about each track using the tabs below.

All faculty receive a FacTracks email regularly which includes upcoming workshops, articles, and tips related to teaching and learning.

Description of Digital Accessibility Track

LWTech is committed to providing digital content that is in an accessible format to all people wherever possible as per federal guidelines.

Visit the LWTech Digital Accessibility page to learn more about what this means and how it helps students with or without disabilities have a more equitable learning experience.

As a faculty, this means making sure your course learning materials (Word docs, PDFs, slidedecks, videos, Canvas pages, etc.) are in an accessible format.

Learning About Digital Accessibility

  • You can learn about Digital Accessibility at your own pace  through SBCTC's Accessibility Microcourses.
  • Or look for emails that are regularly sent to all faculty with FacTracks in the subject line for workshops on Digital Accessibility.

Ways to get started:

  • Check in Ally (a tool within Canvas) to see if your files are accessibly formatted.
  • Add captions to your videos. Visit Canvas Studio Guides. for recording videos, and how to  request captions.
