The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Accounting degree at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) prepares students to gain a solid and extensive background in the high-demand field of accounting. An accounting degree can open many opportunities in the Seattle and the Puget Sound area. Accountants use critical thinking skills to solve accounting and other related analytical problems.

Accounting students prepare for their career by taking challenging courses in accounting and business. Instructors teach students how to use the latest technology in computerized accounting software. They also gain skills in areas such as Excel spreadsheet creation and analysis.

Accounting students at LWTech will:

Entry into this program requires completion of an admissions application and the following prerequisites:

  • Typing at 30 words per minute or concurrent enrollment in a keyboarding course

Class Schedule

Lake Washington Institute of Technology does not offer every course each quarter. It is the student's responsibility to consult the Class Schedule and work out an individual schedule with an advisor or counselor. Any developmental coursework a student might be required to complete may increase the program length.

All classes will be taught online during Fall 2020.

Transferring from LWTech

LWTech students who complete all requirements for the completion of the AAS in Accounting are encouraged to determine what their target bachelor’s degree program is to help plan their schedules accordingly with an LWTech advisor. The following Washington accredited bachelor's programs, accept LWTech's graduates with an AAS in Accounting.
