Medical Insurance Requirements

The International Programs staff care deeply about your wellbeing as a student. For this reason we are proud to offer you student insurance that covers both physical and mental health concerns. If for any reason your physical or mental health affect your success as a student, please set up a time to meet with a staff member. We can help you consider your options and connect you with services that can help.

Medical care is very expensive in the United States. International students are required to enroll in a health insurance program that covers them during vacations and Optional Practical Training (OPT).

LWTech, in partnership with LewerMark, provides international students health insurance at a reduced cost.

• LewerMark Insurance provides for students. Additional insurance for dependent children or spouse can also be purchased.
• Payment is due the first day of the quarter. Coverage dates are the first day of the quarter to the day before the next quarter.
• The health insurance plan provides access to a 24-hour Nurse Line: (866) 549-5076 for free medical advice. Native language translators are available.
• LewerMark has a scholarship available. All students who purchase an insurance plan are encouraged to apply!

Medical insurance does not include dental or vision coverage, but additional insurance plans just for dental can be purchased through Smart Smile.
