Jun 24, 2025
LWTech held its 2025 Commencement ceremony on June 12 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA. More than 300 graduates participated in this year’s celebration.
LWTech President Dr. Amy Morrison welcomed attendees and shared a few heartfelt words, recognizing the perseverance and resilience of the Class of 2025.
Professor Wendi Nancarrow-Carter, chair of the Behavioral and Social Services department, delivered an inspiring keynote speech focused on hope and the promise of the future. The audience was especially moved by student speaker Kortni Burns, a mother of five and grandmother to a seven-month-old, who shared her powerful story of struggle and determination. Kortni earned her Associate Transfer degree in Health Sciences from LWTech and will continue her education at Washington State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Psychology, with a minor in Human Development.
In addition, LWTech alumnae Melissa Feskin was honored with the 2025 LWTech Foundation Annual Distinguished Alumni Award for her outstanding accomplishments and contributions as an Epidemiologist. Melissa earned her BAS in Public Health degree from LWTech before moving on to getting a master's degree from Arizona State University.
We are immensely proud of our graduates and look forward to celebrating the next class of students in the coming year!
