LWTech’s New Center for Design and Event Center Is Officially Open
Oct 1, 2026
More than 300 guests joined us on September 24, 2026, as we officially opened the LWTech Center for Design and Event Center.
The event began with the dedication of “Snoqualmie Pass,” a sculpture by James Madison that is located in the courtyard outside of the new building. The ceremony continued with remarks from LWTech President Dr. Amy Morrison, Snoqualmie Tribe Chairman Robert de los Angeles, and LWTech Board of Trustees Chair Robert Malte. The event also included a faculty dedication led by Design Professor Steve Aterand remarks from LWTech alum Trevor Lunde.
The state-of-the-art Center for Design and Event Center houses LWTech’s Art, Design, Illustration, Architecture, and Gaming programs under one roof to create a vibrant hub for creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
In addition to new instructional and creative spaces, the Center features a brand-new, fully equipped event space. The space can accommodate up to 501 guests standing or 224 guests seated at 28 72-inch round tables, making it an ideal venue for community gatherings, workshops, conferences, and special events.
We’re excited to welcome students, faculty, staff, and community members to explore and experience this new addition to campus.
