LWTech Spotlighted by U.S. Department of Education for Inclusive Excellence

LWTech is among nine colleges in Washington state (and 200 higher education institutions nationally, and one of 100 community colleges, nationally) highlighted by the Department of Education for inclusive excellence. These colleges and universities are eligible to apply for the new – the Raise the Bar initiative.

The Department of Education used publicly available data to measure performance on key indicators related to equitable access, success, and post-college outcomes for students of color and low-income students at public and nonprofit institutions across the country.

“Our faculty and staff meet students where they are and lead with equity,” said Dr. Amy Morrison, president of LWTech. By doing this, we create direct pathways for students into the workforce where they can start on day-one, trained in the latest industry standards, ready to embark on a long and successful career.”

LWTech now has a chance to participate in the next phase of the selection process for the department’s Postsecondary Success Recognition program.

Recognition award winners will be announced by the Department of Education in early 2025.
