LWTech Students Team Up with Amazon LEO to Launch Their Space Careers

LWTech’s Aerospace Assembly and Manufacturing certificate students are preparing to launch their careers in the space industry thanks to a dynamic partnership with Amazon LEO. Recently, executives from Amazon LEO visited the LWTech campus to meet with students and faculty to film a video highlighting the collaboration, which was also featured on KING 5 News.

During the visit, students showcased their hands-on skills and shared how the partnership, which helped shape two specialized certificate programs, has supported their professional growth and opened doors to new career pathways.

Amazon LEO, formerly known as Project Kuiper, aims to expand global internet access for underserved communities. Brian Huseman, Amazon’s Vice President of Public Policy and Community Engagement, shared that nearly 150 satellites are currently in orbit, with plans to deploy a total of 3,200.

LWTech student Nadine Finegold expressed her gratitude and pride in contributing to such an ambitious initiative.

The 15-credit Aerospace Assembly and Manufacturing Certificate program accepts 25 students per cohort, and enrollment for winter quarter is now open.
