Richard (Dick) Haelsig, longtime supporter and LWTech Foundation Board member passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 89.

Dick and his wife Diane, who is also a longtime Foundation board member, established a $50,000 endowed scholarship several years ago, which provides at least two scholarships to students annually. In his memory, the Haelsig family has created the Dick Haelsig Memorial Scholarship to continue supporting LWTech students and honoring his legacy.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Haelsig. Throughout his years as a member of the LWTech Foundation Board of Directors, he and his wife Diane were instrumental in guiding policies and advocating on behalf of our students,” comments, Dr. Amy Morrison, president of LWTech. “Dick lived a full, meaningful life and will be remembered with great affection and gratitude.”
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; sons, Bryan and Bob Haelsig; and stepchildren, Tanya Johnson, Kathryn Ormiston (Mark), Eric Johnson, and Anna Dunford (Wally). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests that remembrances be made to the Dick Haelsig Memorial Scholarship at LWTech. All contributions will be added to the Dick and Diane Haelsig Endowment, helping students pursue their education for generations to come.
