Trustee Commitment and Goals
Land Acknowledgment
We acknowledge that the LWTech campus is on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, past and present, and we honor with gratitude the land itself, and the Coast Salish, Stillaguamish, Snoqualmie, Muckleshoot and Duwamish tribes. We acknowledge these tribes by showing respect, and take an intentional step toward correcting the stories and practices that erase Indigenous people's history and culture, and toward inviting and honoring the truth.
Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
The Board of Trustees, in our role of providing leadership through policy governance of the college, fully supports Dr. Morrison's and LWTech's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as the college strives to become an antiracist college. We believe this work aligns clearly with the vision of the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and its work to lead our system with racial equity.
As part of this work, the Trustees will continue in 2024-2025 to support Dr. Morrison, Executive Cabinet, and LWTech's students, faculty, and staff as they work to fulfill the three Mission Fulfillment Goals of the college, which are:
- Goal 1: Student Ready
- Goal 2: Workforce Ready
- Goal 3: Future Ready
The Trustees also continue to support Dr. Morrison and the college community, and recognize the incredible work, dedication, planning, and support members of the college community provides students and each other.
