Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) recently discovered that it was the victim of a data breach incident. With the privacy and security of our organization, its students, faculty, staff, and other community members who trust and rely on us as our priority, we took quick and thorough steps to secure our systems and activate additional cybersecurity protocols. Additional information about this incident can be a found on the ๐Data Security Incident Page.
In the event anyone needs to immediately contact Security, a wall-mounted phone is now located outside of the Security Office, E145.
Users can directly dial on-duty security, on-duty Kirkland Police, custodial staff, or 911.
Students, faculty and staff can receive their emergency alerts from Lake Washington Institute of Technology's Emergency Communication Notification System. LWTech uses two campus emergency alert systems to notify students, faculty, staff, the community, and the media when campus activities are affected due to unexpected circumstances. Emergency alert updates are also posted on Facebook and Twitter.
The Omnilert system is capable of sending emergency notifications instantly and simultaneously to all registered mobile phones, wireless PDAs, pagers, smartphones, satellite phones, and email addresses. The system is also capable of posting alerts on our Facebook page and Twitter accounts.
If you already have an Omnilert account, you will need to re-apply as all accounts are purged after two years.
FlashAlert.net is an emergency alert system used by the media to announce school closures
and schedule changes. LWTech staff updates the Flash Alert system at the same time
Omnilert is updated. Messages are sent via email and text. A new addition is the FlashAlert
Messenger app for iOS and Android.
