As the only public institute of technology in Washington State, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) provides students with cutting edge skills relevant to today’s workplace. LWTech offers 11 applied bachelor’s degrees, 41 associate degrees, and 83 professional certificates in 41 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. LWTech offers programs in the Schools of: Business & Entrepreneurship; Design & Applied Arts; Education; Engineering and Manufacturing; Health Sciences; Information Technology; and Transportation Technology, as well as programs in Culinary and Baking Arts, Environmental Horticulture, and Funeral Services Education.
LWTech provides multiple opportunities and entrance points for students to gain the skills and knowledge needed to compete in today’s global workforce. Students can continue their education at LWTech through high school programs, adult basic education, certificates of proficiency and completion, apprenticeships, associate degrees, professional and technical direct transfer degrees, applied baccalaureate degrees, and continuing education. The college also offers a number of support services, such as tutoring, child care, English as a second language, and advising to help students succeed.
LWTech maintains strong ties with business, labor, educational organizations, and the community at large. To ensure that the college meets current and future workforce needs, representatives from business and industry serve on the President’s Advisory Council and on advisory committees for each program. Additionally, the college works closely with local governments and elected officials, state and federal legislators, and community organizations to support economic development in our region.
