Adult Basic Education classes at Lake Washington Institute of Technology support students on educational/career pathways by preparing them for today's careers and tomorrow's opportunities. LWTech Adult Basic Education program serves 1,200 students annually in the Kirkland and Seattle Eastside area and consists of three branches in basic skills.
Reading, writing, math, and adult high school completion coursework.
Six levels of ESL and supplemental online and independent study.
If you want to improve your English to become a better parent, worker, and community member, this program can accommodate you in day or evening English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Kirkland campus.
Gives ESL/ABE students the opportunity to take professional-technical classes while at an advanced ESL or adult basic education level. In this type of program, students benefit from having a basic skills instructor along with a professional-technical instructor during half of their professional-technical coursework.

Students enrolled in HS+ Monday/Wednesday hybrid class, will be enrolled in a subject area class when completing his/her work towards a subject credit and disenrolled from the original class he/she signed up for. For additional questions please contact Catherine England.
*"Hybrid" also known as "Blended" classes are names used to describe courses in which some traditional face-to-face "seat time" has been replaced by online learning activities. The purpose of a hybrid course is to take advantage of the best features of both face-to-face and online learning.
