Program FAQs

What times are classes offered?

Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. (Summer quarter hours are longer in the day). The program starts every quarter.  

What is the Teaching Modality?

Face-to-face, lecture/lab, class size: 24 is the cap.

Can the program be taken part-time?

No.

What kinds of jobs are available with the degree?

Entry level auto body tech, paint prepper and/or technician, detailer, estimator, parts manager at body shops or insurance companies.

What is the starting salary?

Start with salary but move into flat rate, which is approx. $17-$20 per flat-rate hour.

What would be job options with only a Certificate of Completion?

Same options as with the degree, depending upon the certificate completed. However, the degree makes you more competitive.

Are internships required?

No.

What class supplies and tools are needed? Do I need a uniform?

Tools range from $800-$3,000. Faculty will provide a list. Wear appropriate shop attire.

Do I need health insurance?

No, but recommended.

Is the degree transferable?

The General Education Requirement classes are transferrable but not the program classes.

Is having a criminal record an impediment to getting hired in the industry?

It depends on the employer. Background checks are conducted by most employers.
