The following degrees and certificates are offered as part of the Early Childhood Education program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech).
Coursework is offered online and hybrid (online and in person) during the day time, evenings and weekend
Aligns with the State approved common coursework and the Early Achievers rating program
Practical experience based learning is offered in a variety of ways
Students will be receive training that involves both the NAEYC program standards and the Department of Early Learning Standards (WAC/Licensing)
Practicum work can be completed at the Early Learning Center (ELC) onsite or through employment at a licensed childcare
Continuing education is available for teachers already working in the field
Stackable Certificates allow students to complete Initial, Short and ECE State Certificates as they progress through the program. Certificate coursework applies to the AAS Degree program requirements. Students can earn one or more Short Certificates in these areas of specialization: ECE General, Infant-Toddler Care, School Age Care, Family Child Care and Administration.
