The Nursing Assistant certificate prepares students for jobs as Nursing Assistants in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare agencies. Additionally, this program prepares students for other Allied Health programs such as the Registered Nurse program. Nursing Assistants gain healthcare experience with flexible schedules and numerous job opportunities. The Nursing Assistant program includes on-campus classroom and laboratory instruction and a supervised clinical practicum at a local healthcare facility to practice your new skills.
Graduates of this one quarter program receive a Certificate of Completion and are then eligible to apply and take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) Examination here at LWTech, an approved NACES testing center. The NNAAP application also requires the student to have a valid social security number and pay the current application fee of $110.00.
