Program Information

Information Technology: Computing and Software Development BAS is an evening hybrid program with in-person and online components. Students can apply to join this program in Fall, Winter, and Spring. This program is a Selective Admission program, meaning that it has specific admission criteria and a separate application process.
Computing and Software Development Information Sessions
All are invited to come learn about LWTech’s newest applied bachelors degree, in Computer Software Development. College faculty and staff will share information about the degree and the jobs it prepares graduates for. We will explain the application process and answer questions.
Join us for a 5-10 minute intro to our program, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. These info sessions cover two separate bachelor's degrees: Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing Software Development and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. We'll address questions regarding the distinctions between these programs.

Application Dates and Deadlines
Admission: Fall, Winter, Spring
Program Length: 6 quarters at Full-Time Enrollment
Below are the application deadlines by quarter.
- Winter 2026 Deadline: December 1, 2025
- Spring 2026 Deadline: February 23, 2026
- Fall 2026 Deadlines:
- Priority Deadline: May 11, 2026
- Rolling Admission Deadline: August 24, 2026, or when the cohort is full.
Applications submitted after the deadline will automatically be considered for the next quarter start. For Fall 2026 admission, plan to apply by the priority deadline for first consideration! Students who apply by the priority deadline will receive a decision by the end of June 2026.

Application Requirements
- Applicants must have earned an Applied Associate Degree, or equivalent, from an accredited institution in a computer science, software, or programming related field.
- Minimum 2.0 GPA cumulative across all college coursework.
- Completion of 25 credits of College-level General Education prerequisite courses with
a minimum 2.0 GPA in each of the following classes:
- English Composition: ENGL& 101 or equivalent
- Quantitative Reasoning: MATH& 142 Pre-Calculus II or equivalent
- CS 143 Computer Science II Java or equivalent
- College-level Social Sciences
- College-level Humanities
Students who have courses to complete at the time of admission may be admitted conditionally. English Composition and CS 143 must be completed prior to beginning BAS classes. MATH&142 can be completed in the first quarter. Social Science and Humanities can be completed later in the program.

Accreditation
Lake Washington Institute of Technology is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities at the associate degree level and at the baccalaureate level.
LWTech Policies
In signing and submitting the application, you will be certifying that to the best of your knowledge the statements made are complete and true. This means that failure to disclose and submit official transcripts from all schools, colleges, or universities attended and failure to disclose and submit complete and accurate information may result in the denial of admission or subsequent dismissal from Lake Washington Institute of Technology. Your application will be considered incomplete without the required signatures.
Once your online application is completed, make sure to click the "Review Application" button. Make sure everything looks correct, then click "Verify and Submit," enter your name as your signature, and click "Submit". In the application portal, your application must show 100% complete. If it does not say 100% complete, it will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed. Please note that 100% complete does not indicate that LWTech has received all required documents. Applications are not considered complete until all required documentation is received.
