The Sewing program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech), located near Seattle, in Kirkland, WA, prepares students to independently create items made from textiles. Students will learn proper machine and tool usage, textile types and constructions and various techniques for assembling their creations. For their Certificate of Completion, students can choose a path in quilting or garment construction.
Sewing classes at LWTech provide training that lead to jobs in dressmaking, costuming, fabric or craft salesperson, manufacturer representative or online entrepreneur. Upon completing the certificate, students will have gained the skills required to construct textile-based projects using a variety of techniques.
At LWTech, we welcome all students as an open enrollment college and we are committed to your inclusion at the college. There are no admission requirements for this program. Students can self-select their path for the Sewing Certificate of Completion. There is no background check required for admission to the program.
Entry into the Sewing program requires completion of LWTech's general online application.

The Sewing program of study leads to an industry or specific employers that may require a full or partial background check as well as a drug test before you start the job.
Lake Washington Institute of Technology does not offer every course each quarter. It is the student's responsibility to consult the Class Schedule and work out an individual schedule with an advisor or counselor. Any developmental coursework a student might be required to complete may increase the program length.
