The LWTech Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a free academic support program open to LWTech students enrolled in supported classes. SI has student and faculty SI Facilitators available to assist students who are currently enrolled in supported courses.
Each quarter, what supplemental instruction is offered depends on courses offered and student tutors. Tutoring schedules are set for each course based on student preferences and schedule availability. Facilitators are also available to answer questions posted on the discussion boards for the classes. If your course is listed on the SI page, facilitators will have scheduled Zoom meetings dedicated to supporting your class alone.
There are two kinds of tutoring available at LWTech. The Learning Lab is general tutoring for all students, using a variety of tools to explain a variety of assignments. Supplemental Instruction is tutoring for specific classes using student and faculty tutors who use in class examples to explain assignments. Use both for maximum tutoring support.
LWTech's Learning Lab (E214) is a dynamic learning environment where students work together with each other, facilitators, and tutors to better understand how to learn course concepts, access resources, and apply principles.
