Lake Washington Institute of Technology's Academic Support Center is located in the Technology Center building, inside the Library Learning Commons (T217), and offers support services for Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ELL), High School+ (HS+), and I-BEST students. The center also houses Supplemental Instruction (SI), a free academic support program open to LWTech students enrolled in supported classes. All LWTech students are also welcome to utilize the space which includes computers and study areas.
If you want to improve your English to get a better job or get a college degree, the English Language Learning (ELL) program (formerly known as English as a Second Language or ESL) can accommodate you in day, afternoon, or evening classes at the Kirkland campus.

Adults can work with an instructor to demonstrate abilities in reading, writing, and math within subject areas such as science, history, government, occupational studies, and the arts.
The LWTech Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a free academic support program open to LWTech students enrolled in supported classes. SI has student and faculty SI Facilitators available to assist students who are currently enrolled in supported courses.
Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) classes at Lake Washington Institute of Technology have two instructors, one supporting the technical learning, while the other supports basic skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. I-BEST helps students succeed and they are two times more likely to graduate from the college.
