The LWTech Meditation Room is a designated meditation space for the campus community, located in the Technology Center, T118. The room was established through the partnership between the Associated Student Government and LWTech. The space is dedicated for those in need of a quiet room on campus to engage in meditation, prayer, or silent reflection. It is intended to be a safe and inclusive environment. Usage of the Meditation Room is on a first-come, first-served basis, and only LWTech students, staff, and faculty are eligible to use the room during designated, open hours.

The Meditation Room is managed by the RISE Center. Any questions or concerns about the Meditation Room can be directed to RISE Center staff by calling (425) 739-8210 or stopping by the RISE center in East Building, E126. Additional information may be found in Student Programs, East Building, E128, or by calling (425) 739-8314.

Key Card Access

Access to the Meditation Room requires the use of a Meditation Room key card. Individuals can request a key card one of two ways:

  • Come in to the RISE Center during business hours and sign a User Agreement Form to get access to the meditation room with a key card. The center is in the East Building, E126.
  • Fill out an electronic User Agreement Form and email the completed form to audry.bernal@lwtech.edu. Please note that there are separate forms for staff or faculty and for students or student employees.
  • Once the form has been processed, individuals will receive an email telling them when their card is ready for pick up. If individuals cannot pick up their cards during normal business hours, please note it in the email and RISE staff will have campus security hold the card for pick up instead.

Meditation Room key cards are for use only during the quarter in which they are issued. Cards are due back by the end of the first week of the following quarter. For staff and faculty, cards are due back by the end of the spring quarter of the current academic year. The exact due dates will be listed in the User Agreement Forms. Failure to return the key card by the due date will result in a $10 dollar fine.

To report lost or stolen Meditation Room key cards, please contact the RISE Center or Campus Public Safety as soon as possible.
