Meet Our Staff

The Office of Student Life (OSL) is managed by several exceptional members who remain dedicated to serving students. They work full time from 8 am to 4:30 pm, unless they are covering an event or activity. Please contact them for various questions as listed below.

Dr. Sheila Walton

Sheila has worked in higher education since 1998 (professionally) but started as a student activities programmer at Central Washington University in 1993. After receiving her bachelor in Anthropology, she attended Seattle University and received her masters of arts in student development administration. From there she has worked at two- and four-year colleges in academic advising, hours, student life, and campus programming. She started at LWTech in 2008 and has been here ever since. Other than her professional career, she enjoys traveling, being outside, being inside, fiber arts, and spending time with her family. She’s also been told that she makes a really, really, really good cookie.

Aaron Sparks

I am a Navy brat originally from Washington. I spent a good portion of my developmental years in Virginia, which is where I graduated high school. I worked 10+ years in the restaurant industry before joining the Navy and winding up back here in Washington. I separated from the Navy in 2019 and attended LW Tech, where I earned an AAS in Culinary Arts; however, I had to leave the restaurant industry very shortly after, due to an injury. After returning to school at LW Tech, I found new purpose and something to be passionate about when I started working as a work-study for Workforce Development.  I went on to work temporarily at the front desk in Advising (aka Student Development) before landing the job as Veteran Services Coordinator. I have personal experience using many of the funding programs available to Veterans as well as my GI Bill. I look forward to working with the Students, Faculty, and Staff and honoring our status as one of the best Veteran-friendly schools in our state. Outside of work, I love gaming and I am a pc enthusiast. My loving husband and I own some jet skis, and like to spend time on the water in the summers and go camping. And, I have two dogs that I absolutely adore. Hooyah, Navy! (Go Navy, Beat Army!).
