CARE Team

The Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) process is designed to support students by providing a central place to share concerns about student well-being. Faculty, staff, students, and members of the LWTech community are encouraged to submit reports when they are worried about a student's well-being. Submissions from employees are welcome and handled in accordance with FERPA guidelines.

Submit a CARE Report

We encourage all members of our campus community to use our secure online reporting tool to share any concerns about student well-being. If you're unsure whether to submit a CARE report or use another reporting option, please choose the CARE report. Our team will review the information and notify the appropriate department if needed.

Submit a CARE Report

For emergencies, call 9-1-1 followed by Campus Public Safety at (425) 739-8224. For all other non-emergency needs, please call Campus Public Safety at (425) 739-8224.

How it Works

  1.  When a report is submitted, it is received by:
    • Katie Peacock, Director of Student Services
    • Ruby Hayden, Vice President of Student Services
    • Anthony Bowers, Director of Campus Public Safety

  2. Based on the urgency selected, a staff member will follow up accordingly:
    • FYI – No follow-up needed; recorded for awareness only
    • Low – Issue is not time sensitive
    • Normal – Follow-up needed within one week
    • Critical – Immediate attention; VP of Student Services is alerted via text message

  3. We may follow up with the reporter to offer support, gather more details, and determine appropriate resources. In many cases, we will work with individuals who already have a relationship with the student, such as an academic advisor, and may encourage you to have a direct, compassionate conversation with the student before formal CARE intervention occurs.
Due to privacy and FERPA regulations, we may not be able to provide detailed updates on the outcome of a report
