Drop-in hours are designed for questions that can be addressed in 15 minutes or less. They are first-come, first-served time and are available without an appointment. Drop-in advising is the fastest way to connect to an advisor for any urgent questions or to schedule a longer follow-up appointment.
Note: Students must have applied for admission and received a Student ID number to meet with a drop-in advisor.
Drop-in is only monitored during the hours listed. There are both in-person and virtual options. Please see the details below. Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) classes at Lake Washington Institute of Technology have TWO instructors in ONE classroom. One instructor is Professional-Technical or General Education faculty and the other instructor is Adult Basic Education (ABE) or English Language Learning (ELL) faculty. As a result, I-BEST students receive more attention and assistance in their classes. With more academic support, I-BEST classes increase student success, so students can start certificates earlier, complete degrees faster, and gain the education they need to pursue their chosen careers!
Academic I-BEST provides support for students in completing many of their General Education requirements. General Education Requirements must be completed by all LWTech students to earn a Certificate of Proficiency or Associate degree. In addition, many General Education Requirements are pre-requisites to start programs such as Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nursing, Applied Design, Engineering/Biology Transfer degrees, Computing and Software Development, and many more.
Whether you want to upgrade your skills with a short certificate or complete an Associate degree at LWTech, I-BEST certificates can assist you in meeting your goals. I-BEST students in certificate programs benefit from added support at the beginning of their college journey and gain the confidence they need to enter the workforce and/or continue their education.
