Upon graduation, students will unlock diverse career opportunities spanning construction, manufacturing, industrial, maintenance, and creative metalworking industries. Program graduates meet Washington Association of Building Officials test requirements and comply with American Welding Society industry standards. Graduates will also have the opportunity to take the WABO Welder Certification Test. Testing is available for students, graduates, and members of the community.

Additional Program Information

 

Entry into the Welding Technology program requires completion of LWTech's general online application.

LWTech does not offer every course each quarter. It is the student's responsibility to consult the Class Schedule and work out an individual schedule with an advisor. Any developmental coursework you might be required to complete may increase the program length.

Program may require Summer coursework.

At LWTech, we welcome all students as an open enrollment college and we are committed to your inclusion at the college. This program of study leads to an industry or specific employers that may require a full or partial background check as well as a drug test before you start the job. Please know LWTech is committed to your inclusion at the college and you can talk with an advisor about alternative options that may be similar to this program.

Explore Careers and Paths in Welding

We are proud of the many pathway options our students have to complete an Applied Bachelor’s degree, at LWTech, and at in-state universities and colleges. All degrees, whether DTA/MRP, AAS-T or AAS, can fulfill transfer requirements at multiple institutions thanks to the articulation (transfer) agreements between LWTech and the transfer college. An applied bachelor's degree can improve your chances in the job market and help you make more money.

The minimum entry level position has the following requirements, but students are highly recommended to contact the place of employment to get detailed information e.g. Drug testing, Graduation requirements( certificates/AAS),Background check, and more:

  • WABO certification preferred
