LWTech is committed to helping all students be successful. Below is a list of resources at both LWTech and local community based and government organizations that students can reach out to for support and funding.  
 
If you are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, financial hardship, and/or in need of other basic needs support, connect with the resources below, talk with your advisor, if this is an emergency, apply for emergency assistance, and, if you need additional support, submit the  LWTech Basic Needs Survey to be connected to the Community Resource Coordinator. 

Additional supports may be available for students with housing emergencies.

  • DEN Food Pantry at LWTech
    • Provides on-the-go meal options and small snacks for students struggling with food insecurity. Students can pick up food from the DEN, located in the East Mall next to the Wellness Center, or order grocery items online by logging into the PantrySoft Link.
  • Student Emergency Grant Application, LWTech
    • LWTech has limited emergency funding available for registered students who have a current financial emergency during the current academic quarter.
  • LWTech Financial Aid
    • Helps students seeking financial assistance meet their educational expenses at LWTech.
  • LWTech Workforce Development Programs
    • Provides assistance with tuition, books, advising, and individualized support services. Students must qualify for the programs to receive benefits.
  • LWTech Career Services
    • Provides career planning and job search assistance to LWTech students and alumni.   
  • Scholarships for LWTech Students
    • The LWTech Foundation offers both Need-Based and Merit-Based Scholarships. Find scholarship information and tips for applying to scholarships.
  • Mental Health Counseling Services for Students
    • Offers free and confidential short-term mental health counseling services to all enrolled students with our Mental Health Counselor or through our free 24/7 virtual health and well-being platform, TimelyCare.
  • LWTech Veterans Services
    • Assists military-connected students in their transition to and success in their civilian life.
  • Tutoring Resources at LWTech 
    • Students can get help in their classes including Supplemental Instruction, drop-in tutoring, eTutoring, and TRIO tutoring (for eligible students).
  • TRIO at LWTech
    • Provides academic and support services to students who are low-income, first generation (i.e. neither parent nor guardian has a bachelor's degree and neither does the student) or students with disabilities.

    • Offers a computer lab and students can check out laptops (if available).
  • LWTech Wellness Center
    • Offers showers, gym equipment, and other wellness-focused activities and resources.

    • Provides a list of internet, software and other technology discounts and services for students. 
  • LWTech Dental Clinic
    • On-campus dental clinic offers quality dental care at an affordable price. Staffed by students, licensed dentists and hygienists, and certified dental assistants.

    • Information about different options that students have for health insurance and property insurance for equipment/items students bring on campus.
  • Early Learning Center at LWTech
    • High quality, on-site early education center for children of enrolled students and employees at LWTech and members of our surrounding community.   
  • RISE Center
    • Offers support services for students from traditionally underrepresented and underserved backgrounds.

  • Community Health Plan of Washington: Provides assistance with accessing and applying for health and dental insurance through the State of Washington, regardless of immigration status. Helps individuals understand the financial help that is available; answer questions about health insurance; and help individuals choose a plan. 
  • YWCA: Supports individuals receiving food stamps from DSHS (EBT card). Provides one-on-one support with resumes, cover letters, job search, mock interviews, etc.

  • Northwest Education Access: Assistance with FAFSA or WASFA. Supports students with accessing/navigating higher education; career exploration; navigating Financial Aid, admissions & registration, tutoring; and connecting with resources.
  • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Pacific Associates: Works with dislocated workers who may be receiving or exhausted unemployment insurance (UI); received notice of layoff or business closure; closed a business because of general economic conditions; and displaced homemakers who are no longer supported by another family member's income.

  • LWTech Workforce Development Programs: For students who qualify, provides assistance with tuition, books, advising, and individualized support services.
  • LWTech Career Services: Provides career planning and job search assistance to LWTech students and alumni. One-on-one support, Employer connections, a variety of workshops, and online resources are also available.  
  • LWTech Financial Aid: Helps students seeking financial assistance meet their educational expenses at LWTech through Federal and/or State Aid.
  • CARES of Washington: Provides services including job search assistance, job placement, mental healthcare, childcare, transportation, financial education/coaching, and life skills coaching.
  • Employment Security Department (ESD): Provides information about applying for Unemployment Insurance (UI) Benefits, support for job seekers, and much more. 
  • Scholarships for LWTech Students: Find scholarship information and tips for applying to scholarships. 
  • Pioneer Human Services - Roadmap to Success Program: Provides services and job search classes for individuals who have a conviction history.
  • Northwest Education Access: Assistance with accessing and navigating Financial Aid, including FAFSA or WASFA, and higher education, including admissions & registration, tutoring, career exploration and connecting with resources.   • TRAC Associates: Training, Rehabilitation, Assessment, and Counseling (TRAC) Associates. A multi-lingual agency that provides Employment Services.
  • Global Mentorship Initiative: For younger professionals, connects a student with a dedicated mentor who guides them in their post-graduation career journey.
  • Eastside Pride PNW: Provides educational opportunities, community events, inclusive and safe spaces to ensure all LGBTQIA+ people feel welcome.
  • WorkSource: Offers job search information, tools, and resources. Also hosts workshops and hiring events, provides information about career exploration, etc.

  • DSHS/Caregiver Careers: Provides information about becoming a paid caregiver through the WA State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).

  • 2-1-1 : Call the number 2-1-1 for information about local agencies providing emergency assistance, housing assistance, nearest food banks, and much more. 
  • Washington Connection: Offers a fast and easy way to apply online for several Food Benefits, Cash Assistance, Child Care, and other public benefits.
  • Hopelink Food Markets: Hopelink has five (5) food markets with locations in Kirkland, Bellevue, Carnation, Redmond, and Shoreline.
  • Woodinville Storehouse Food Bank: Walk-in clients welcome. Bring ID for all family members and proof of residency such as utility bill or rental agreement for Woodinville, Bothell, Kirkland, Kenmore, or Redmond.
  • Renewal Food Bank: Everyone is welcome, and shoppers can visit one time per week. Pet food is also available. Located in Bellevue. 
  • Eastside Salvation Army: Located in Bellevue, their Food Bank is open multiple days per week. Also offers free hot meals Monday-Friday from 5:30-6:30 PM.
  • Little Free Pantries: These pantries are open 24/7. No ID is required, and anyone is welcome to access them. See map online for local food pantries near you. 
  • Nourishing Networks: Search various food resources by city on the Eastside. 
  • Seattle Food Committee: Search for local food banks in the Seattle area for free groceries and other resources. 
  • Food Resources by City: This link includes Food Banks and Food Pantries located in different cities near LWTech. including Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle, etc.

  • TimelyCare: LWTech students have free, 24/7 access to virtual medical and mental health services with TimelyCare.
  • LWTech - Dental Clinic: On-campus dental clinic offers quality dental care. Staffed by students, licensed dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.   
  • Community Health Plan of Washington: Provides assistance with accessing and applying for health and dental insurance through the State of Washington, regardless of immigration status.   • Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW): Provides assistance with accessing health & dental insurance regardless of immigration status. status.
  • Community Health Access Program (CHAP): A free and confidential telephone assistance program serving King County residents by connecting them to health insurance, health-care care services, and other resources.
  • Health Point: Offers 20 HealthPoint locations across King County with a variety of healthcare services. Go to HealthPoint- Find Clinics to find the closest location.
  • HealthierHere: Provides care coordination and resource navigation for healthcare and health-related issues, housing, food, and financial security. Clients can self-refer into the program by calling 1-833-453-0336 or by completing the online intake form
  • EvergreenHealth- Community Healthcare Access Team (CHAT): Provides assistance with accessing affordable and quality health and social services. Call CHAT at (425) 899-3200 or email CHAT@evergreenhealth.com.
  • King County Public Health Centers: Offers more than 10 Public Health Centers. Services range from adult healthcare clinics to child health care clinics.
  • Nashi Immigrants Health Board: Provides health and healthcare support to immigrants and refugees from Ukraine and post-Soviet states.
  • Project Access Northwest: A non-profit healthcare organization that provides specialty health care for low-income and uninsured patients.
  • CISC: Healthcare Access: Provides free, unbiased and confidential help with Medicare and health care choices from Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA). Assistance available in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese. 
  • SeaMar Community Health Centers: Health services are available to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos. 
  • Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA): Provides free help with Medicare and healthcare choices. Help available in other languages as well. 
  • Needy Meds: Find help with the cost of medicine. Provides a Patient Assistance Program (PAP), Affordable Health Clinics, and possible Coupons, Rebates, etc.
  • Partnership for Prescription Assistance: Offers helpful information about online prescriptions, information about safety and risk awareness for online prescriptions, and other critical health-related information.
  • Public Health Teen Clinics: Provides a safe, friendly, and confidential place for teens to get health support. 
  • Public Health Seattle & King County Community Health Centers: Includes a list of medical and dental clinics. Please visit the specific Community Health Center for details about services, location, and open hours.
  • UW School of Dentistry: Several dental clinics including Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Urgent Care, and a Predoctoral Dental Teaching Clinic.

  • King County Veterans Program: May help with emergency shelter and other supports for veterans.
  • Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI): Lists several low-income housing options in Seattle and East King County.
  • Mama’s Hands House of Hope: Provides a safe and secure 24-hour living environment for women and children in crisis in East King County.
  • Mary’s Place: Provides emergency shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness in King County. Pet friendly. 
  • Mercy Housing: Provides affordable, service-enriched housing in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Skagit Counties.
  • Multi-Service Center: Housing resources and one-time rental assistance for those living in South King County. 
  • Muslim Community Resource Center (MAPS/MCRC): Provides assistance with housing and other emergencies in East King County.
  • My Housing Search: Search for rental properties in Washington by city.
  • Overlake Safe Parking - Redmond: Provides a temporary and safe place for single men and couples with no place to stay except in their vehicles.
  • PorchLight: Housing services for men including emergency shelter in Bellevue, day center, and paths to permanent housing.
  • Safe Parking Program in Kirkland: Offers a safe place to park overnight, with access to toilets, Wi-Fi and a refrigerator, for those living in their vehicles.
  • Seattle Housing Authority: Search for affordable housing and apply for a chance to receive a Housing Choice Voucher, which would provide rental assistance in Seattle for people with limited incomes.
  • Solid Ground: Located in North Seattle, offers resources and referrals to support housing stability as well as tenant rights information.
  • Sophia Way: Supports women experiencing homelessness in finding transitional, permanent, and supportive housing in King County. 
  • Sound Generations Home Repair Program: Serves low-income homeowners in Seattle, Shoreline and South King County who struggle with home repair costs.
  • Survivors FIRST with YWCA: Helps connect survivors of gender-based violence with essential legal services and other resources, including safe housing.
  • Together Center: Offers comprehensive support in one location in Redmond, including affordable housing and various other basic needs supports.
  • Ukrainian Community Center of Washington: Provides assistance with housing stabilization in addition to various other services in King County.
  • United Way of King County: Offers rental assistance and eviction prevention program for King County residents, as well as housing support for youth.
  • Washington Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF): Free help and funding available for those struggling to make mortgage payments.
  • Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs Housing Resources: Offers support for veterans through transitional housing program and downpayment assistance program.
  • WELD: Housing and employment services in King County for those previously incarcerated and justice-involved.
  • YWCA Housing: Helps women and families in King and Snohomish Counties find and maintain safe, stable housing.

  • ORCA Lift: A reduced transit fare program to help those who income-qualify get more out of public transportation. The ORCA Lift Card offers a convenient, more affordable way to get around Puget Sound.
  • Hopelink - Transportation: Consists of three departments to help with navigating public transportation: DART TransitMedicaid Transportation, and Mobility Management.
  • Solid Ground Transportation: Provides free rides for people living on low incomes and those who utilize health and human services in downtown Seattle.
  • Auto Angels: Offers auto repair support to individuals associated with Acres of Diamonds, PorchLight (formerly Congregations for the Homeless), Mary's Place (Bellevue location only), Eastside Academy, The Sophia Way, or Jubilee REACH. 
  • LWTech Auto Repair Shop: Auto repair work needed for the training of the Auto Repair students is accepted. Generally, it is a lower cost for auto repairs, but the services that are offered will depend on the academic quarter.
  • Together Center- Parking & Transit: Offers an Underground Parking Garage for guests and visitors in Redmond.

  • Crisis Connections: Offers help with mental health resources, substance use, emotional concerns, food insecurity, housing insecurity, and other supports.
  • Hopelink: Hopelink provides many services and supports including a Food Market, Housing, Energy and Utilities, Transportation, and Financial Assistance.
  • Solid Ground: Offers assistance with Housing Resources and Tenant Services, Food Resources, Legal Help with Public Benefits, Transportation Resources, and much more.
  • Career Connect Washington - Support Resources Directory: Provides support with Food, Housing, Transportation, Health, Education, Work, and other resources.
  • MAPS Muslim Community Resource Center (MCRC) Redmond:  Helps with housing resources including eviction prevention and emergency motel stays. Also, may offer utilities assistance, food, healthcare, legal, and other supports.
  • Together Center: Located near the Redmond Transit Center; offers a full range of Human Services from medical and dental care, to behavioral health and child care resources, to job training, and many other services.
  • El Centro de la Raza: Offers many types of assistance including a food bank/hot lunch, affordable housing resources, benefits and resource navigation, employment services, youth services, and many other supports.
  • Carnegie Resource Center (CRC) - Everett: Offers a one-stop location in Everett where individuals can get assistance and program referrals, including housing, mental health, veteran services, substance use treatment, employment programs, health insurance, and public benefits.
  • Centro Cultural Mexicano: Provides a variety of resources and supports, including Mortgage Payment and Rent Assistance, in East King County. Available in both English and Spanish.  
  • King County Trans Resource Referral Guide: Resources/supports such as Crisis Support, Housing & Shelter, Disability Support, Employment Resources, information about Annual Events, and many others.
  • Ukrainian Community Center of Washington: Provides assistance with housing stabilization, immigration services, counseling, parenting education, accessing state and federal benefits, domestic violence assistance, and senior services.
  • Volunteers of America Western Washington: Offers a wide range of supports/resources from food and housing/fair housing to behavioral health and conflict resolution.
  • Washington Connection: Provides a fast and easy way to apply for a variety of public benefits including Food, Child Care, Cash Assistance, and several others.
  • Wellspring Family Services Housing Services: Offers programs including rental assistance and eviction prevention. May be able to provide limited financial assistance and cash grants for low-income individuals and families. Speak to a housing counselor about housing stability services or advocacy.
  • Within Reach: Helps with services and resources for Basic Needs including Child Development/Child Healthcare, Food, Health and Healthcare, and others.
  • United Way of King County: Offers the following types of assistance for King County residents: housing/rental assistance, food resources, free tax help, student resources, and other community resources.
