Who Is My Advisor
Please note: you must complete the Getting Started steps prior to meeting with an advisor.
Who Is My Advisor?
You can find your Faculty and Academic Advisors by logging into your Legend account and viewing “My Success Network.”
- All students at LWTech are assigned Advisors based on their program of study declared. These Advisors are also called Student Success Navigators. LWTech uses the terms Student Success Navigator and Advisor interchangeably.
- New students see Student Success Navigators/Advisors for help in choosing their first quarter classes.
- Student Success Navigators are not instructors in your program of study but professional staff whose role is to support students through academic advising.
- They can help you plan your education, register for your first quarter classes, determine transferability of credits from other colleges, and connect you with resources on campus to help ensure your success here at LWTech.
- Advisors can also help you plan your transfer to a 4-year college/university, including BAS programs here at LWTech. If you need support or assistance and are unsure who to contact, your Academic Advisor is the best place to start.
- Faculty Advisors are instructors that teach in your program of study. For example, a Welding Technology student would have one of the Welding instructors as their faculty advisor.
- Faculty Advisors typically work with students once they have begun their program courses and can assist with choosing future quarter courses.
- Some students are part of special population programs where they work with advisors based on unique qualifications.

Advising Office Staff
The Advising Office is where LWTech's Student Success Navigators are located. Student Success Navigators advise the general college population based on program of study. If your program of study is incorrect or unlisted, you will be unable to make an advising appointment.
